Chonky Boys: The Chocolate Chip Cookie Ice Cream Sandwiches that Scream Summer!

Image
Featuring my thick and nuggy Chonky Boy Chocolate Chip Cookies, these ice cream sandwiches are the stuff that summer dreams are made of.  If you've ever had the Cookie Ice Cream Sandwich at Disneyland , you are going to LOVE these!  These big and bold chocolate chip cookies are based on a recipe from my culinary school studies at Auguste Escoffier, but with a few modifications to give them that Jennuine touch.  They make the perfectas book for a fat slice of real vanilla bean ice cream.  And those mini chips?  You just gotta have that extra cronch! Thank goodness this recipe only makes 8 sandwiches, otherwise I would be eating them for breakfast lunch and dinner.  This way, my big family can help save me from my inner child diet-saboteur.   Print With Image Without Image Chonky Boy Chocolate Chip Cookie Ice Cream Sandwiches Yield: 8 Author: Jenn Erickson Loaded with chocolate chips and buttery, brown-sugary vanilla flavor, these mall-sized cookies form a perfect partnership with a

UP, UP AND AWAY ~ HOT AIR BALLOON COSTUME

I posted this costume (from my friend Maureen) last year.  It's still one of my all-time favorites!  She's also made a "Mouse in a Mousetrap" costume, a "Genie On a Flying Carpet" costume, and a "Stay Puft Marshmallow Man" all of which I hope to feature in the future.

COTTON CANDY -- HOW SWEET IT IS!

Homemade Cotton Candy Costume

Donna in Rochester, NY is responsible for this sweet little creation.  Can you believe it cost less than $12?  That's less than a bag of real cotton candy at most carnivals! Find the full tutorial HERE.

TEES FOR TWO:  THING #1 & THING #2

Shelley of How Does She came up with these adorable Thing #1 and Thing #2 costumes (pictured at the top of this post) for her twins.  The "wigs" were created by hot-gluing a blue feather-boa to a beanie hat.  The striped leggings were women's socks that Shelley found at Walmart.  To make them into leg-warmers she simply cut off the feet!  Brilliant!  She purchased the shirts on ebay.  They're still available here:  THING #1/#2 ONESIES.  You can also purchase iron-ons to make your own!

GNOME SWEET GNOME

Michelle of Polka Dots and Pizza saw a pattern for a gnome costume in the store, but knew that she could come up with something even better on her own!  The tutorial is in the works!

What are my rapscallions going to be this year?  My youngest daughter has been certain, since around April that she wanted to be Harry Potter.  My older daughter and I have been having fun creating her "Punk Skunk" costume.

What are your Halloween costume plans for this year?
