Featuring my thick and nuggy Chonky Boy Chocolate Chip Cookies, these ice cream sandwiches are the stuff that summer dreams are made of.  If you've ever had the Cookie Ice Cream Sandwich at Disneyland , you are going to LOVE these!  These big and bold chocolate chip cookies are based on a recipe from my culinary school studies at Auguste Escoffier, but with a few modifications to give them that Jennuine touch.  They make the perfectas book for a fat slice of real vanilla bean ice cream.  And those mini chips?  You just gotta have that extra cronch! On November 13, Martha Stewart Crafts is introducing a new and completely innovative tool in the creative world of crafting: the Circle Edge Punch!  I can't say enough about this tool!  It's like a personal all-in-one party and packaging factory.  It requires no electricity, no special skills and is so, so easy to use! 


With this single tool, you can make doilies, placemats, party hats, garlands, lacy invitations, cupcake sleeves, bonbon baskets, treat cones....and more!  The creative packaging possibilities are endless!  Do I sound excited?  Well, I am!

These are just a few of the embellishments I whipped up using the Martha Stewart Crafts Circle Edge Punch.  

Martha Stewart will be on HSN on Nov. 13 to launch the Circle Edge Punch.  Here are some of the wonderful features that you'll see her demonstrate:
  • Punch a continuous, die-cut border in 7 different sizes for paper up to 12 inches
  • No pre-cutting of paper is necessary

Beside all the creative possibilities, what I love most about this tool is that it's well designed.  The instructions are easy to follow and after making only two doilies I felt like a pro!  The ingenious use of heavy-duty magnets in the construction keep you and your project on track and your cuts precise.

I had fun coming up with this whimsical little paper tree on the fly.  With your favorite scrapbook papers, an old candestick and candle, and your Martha Stewart Crafts Circle Edge Punch, you can have your own little enchanted forest of paper trees in an afternoon!  
To make the paper doily trees...
  • Start with a taper candle firmly inserted into a candlestick.
  • Make paper doilies of several descending sizes.
  • Start with the largest size on the bottom.
  • With scissors, make a snip from one side of the doily to the center.
  • Form doily into a cone shape of the desired height and width (trim off excess overlap).
  • Tape or glue the sides together where they overlap.
  • Snip the top off of the cone, creating an opening just large enough to fit over the candle.
  • Slide cone over the candle and into place.
  • Continue with alternating colors and patterns, decreasing the size with each layer.
  • For the top piece, do not snip a hole.  Simply put a dab of glue inside the top of the cone and set in place on top of the wick.
  • For an extra bit of sparkle, spray with adhesive and sprinkle with Martha Stewart glitter.

Nostalgia Food: Old Fashioned Apple Hand Pies

Who doesn't love a pie that you can eat with one hand while vacuuming, updating a resume, getting a child down for a nap, helping another child with a history report, and folding laundry with the other?  Clearly, only people who don't like pie, and this isn't for them.  This is for us: Pie People. When I was a kid, my favorite board game was CLUE .  I loved the mystery, the intrigue and taking on the role of amateur sleuth.  I've passed my love of the game down to my two girls, and I was excited when my youngest expressed an interest in having a CLUE party for her birthday this year.  Here's what we did: The Invitations To set a dramatic tone for the party, I created invitations inspired by the playing cards from the original board game.  The invitations came in two parts -- a Character Card that introduced the character assigned to the guest and a Party Card that included all the details for the party.  To further link the party to the game, we glued a weapon piece from the board game to each party card (which we were able to purchase as a lot from Ebay).
